GEORGE H.W. BUSH
COMMUNITY CENTER
PROJECT OVERVIEW
Horizon was awarded this remodel which includes a two phase renovation for a 24,500-SF Community Health Center. Phase I-consists of the renovation of the 1960s-era facilities façade with materials which relate-well to the neighborhood’s nearby Barbara Bush Branch Library. Phase II-includes the reconfiguration and enhancements of the interior for better circulation in the lobby, administrative spaces, the exercise facility and gymnasium into a multi-purpose room with stages.
Additional improvements include ADA compliance upgrades in restrooms including plumbing fixtures, remodel of a commercial kitchen into a catered-pantry with new appliances; as well as, updates to the mechanical systems and finishes. In addition, improvements on the site will include accessible walking paths, benches, landscaping, and a new memorial dedicated to former President Bush.
