PROJECT OVERVIEW
The new ground-up Welcome Center at Prairie View A&M University serves as the first destination for perspective students and parents when visiting the campus. The 7,900-SF building is located near the front lawn of the campus and is the first building visible by incoming guests to the campus. The new facility houses an exhibit corridor which incorporates graphics and technology dedicated to the history of the university with an overhang canopy, multi-offices, a community gathering space, meeting room, gallery space, outside fountains, and building support spaces. A large multi-purpose room is included with a tiered-seating presentation area, and state-of-the-art technology for community meetings and events. Designed to incorporate the university’s standard brick-blend along with multi-colored stone
panels and curtain wall. The building is equipped to handle 100-seating capacity in a banquet hall setting and features floor-to-ceiling glass walls; a catering kitchen, and a gift shop.
