The 32,000-SF, two-story Culinary Arts Building is the latest state of the art culinary teaching/ demonstration facility. It includes specialized culinary classrooms, pastry laboratories, baking/cooking labs, conference rooms, lounge areas, reception areas, a dining room/bar, locker rooms, computer labs, storage receiving, and a dish room. Located at HCC’s Main Campus in Midtown Houston, this facility provides equipment, and training for students to become competent in food preparation, fundamental cooking, and baking methods, regional/international cuisine, cold kitchen preparation, and à la carte kitchen operations. Features include: 9-academic classrooms, 7-labs, a robotics classroom, study rooms, and huddle spaces. Many of the chefs in Houston’s restaurant industry are workforce trainees of HCC and graduates of the popular Culinary Arts Program. This project is LEED Silver Certified.
